16. On the DS-562NC check the setting of DIP switch SW3-8.
SW3-8 turns the DS-562NC’s service on or off. ON (DOWN) turns the service off
(board disabled), OFF (UP) turns the service on (board enabled). Initially, set the
switch to the ON (DOWN) position for service disabled.
17. On the DS-562NC check the setting of DIP switch SW4-3 through SW4-8.
SW4-3 through SW4-8 controls the modules transmit address. Set the switches to
achieve the desired transmit address setting as shown in Table 11. This feature is
ONLY available for data-rate of 56 Kbps for RS-449 (MA-406IA), RS-530 (MA-
406IB), X.21 (MA-410I), or V.35 (MA-409IA).
18. On the DS-562NC check the setting of DIP switch SW5-3 through SW5-8.
SW5-3 through SW5-8 controls the modules receive address. Set the switches to
achieve the desired receive address setting as shown in Table 11. This feature is
ONLY available for data-rate of 56 Kbps for RS-449 (MA-406IA), RS-530 (MA-
406IB), X.21 (MA-410I), or V.35 (MA-409IA).
19. On the DS-562NC check the setting of DIP switch SW5-2.
SW5-2 turns the squelch on or off. OFF (DOWN) turns the squelch off, ON (UP)
turns the squelch on (the DS-562NC stops sending data out the 64/56 Kbps connector
upon loss of valid receive address). Set the switch to the desired setting. This feature
is ONLY available for data-rate of 56 Kbps for RS-449 (MA-406I A), RS-530 (MA-
406IB), X.21 (MA-410I), or V.35 (MA-409IA).
20. On the DS-562NC check the setting of DIP switch SW6-3.
SW6-3 turns the octet timing on or off. Place in the OFF (DOWN) position to turn
the service off. Place in the ON (UP) position to turn-on the octet timing feature. Set
the switch to the desired position. This feature is ONLY available with G.703 (MA-
407I and MA-408I).
21. On the DS-562NC check the setting of DIP switch SW6-4.
SW6-4 turns the handshaking delay on or off. OFF (DOWN) sets no delay, ON (UP)
sets an 8 microsecond delay. This feature is ONLY available for RS-449 (MA-
406IA), RS-530 (MA-406IB) and V.35 (MA-409IA).
22. On the DS-562NC check the setting of DIP switch SW6-5.
SW6-5 selects normal or inverted receive clock relative to the data out of the DS-
562NC interface. OFF (DOWN) sets normal polarity, ON (UP) sets inverted polarity.
If the customer equipment (or the local MA-427/428 I/O) interfacing with the DS-
562NC does not reliably receive data, the receive clock may have to be inverted. For
the initial setup, set the switch to the OFF position. This feature is ONLY applicable
to RS-449 (MA-406IA), RS-530 (MA-406IB), X.21 (MA-410I), or V.35 (MA-409IA),
or LAN (MA-427/428). Note that the DS-562NC interfaces directly with the MA-
427/428 using RS-449 signals.
