INSTALLING THE 105120-3 IN AN RFL 9745
MOUNTING
The 9745 Telnet I/O module is packaged in a plug-in module, for mounting in an RFL 9745 chassis.
The 9745 Telnet I/O module is mounted at the left rear of the RFL 9745 chassis. The chassis must
have a blank panel or a generic Redundant Power Supply I/O in this location or the 105120-3 will not
fit. In addition to this, make sure the DATA port cable can reach the RS-232 remote port at the rear of
the 9745 chassis.
Before installing the module into the RFL 9745 chassis make sure the programmable jumpers J1, J2
and J3 are properly positioned. These three jumpers must be in the /NCM position.
POWER INPUT
The 105120-3 is powered through the RFL 9745 chassis motherboard. The current drawn from the
RFL 9745, 5-volt power supply is approximately 0.175 Amps.
REDUNDANT POWER SUPPLY I/O, REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS
If your RFL 9745 has a Redundant Power Supply I/O module installed, proceed as follows:
1. Disconnect power from the RFL 9745.
2. Open the RFL 9745 front panel.
3. Disconnect the front RS-232 port cable from the communications module.
4. Remove the CPU board, driver board, and the communications module.
5. Using a screwdriver blade or a sharp pointed tool, pry open the two locking tabs on the black
rectangular shaped EMI choke which is attached to the interior wall. This may be difficult to do
due to limited access. Once the tabs are unlocked, hinge open the choke and remove the wiring
harness.
6. Unplug the white connector from the motherboard.
7. Remove the two side screws and four rear screws, which hold the Redundant Power Supply I/O
in the 9745 chassis.
8. Carefully slide out the Redundant Power Supply I/O from the 9745 chassis while snaking the
white connector through the oval shaped hole in the side wall of the card cage.
