9745 TELNET INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Disconnect power from the RFL 9745.
2. Remove the Redundant Power Supply I/O if one is present, from the right rear of the RFL 9745
chassis as described in the previous paragraph.
3. Carefully slide the 9745 Telnet I/O into the rear left of the RFL 9745 chassis while at the same
time snaking the white connector through the oval shaped hole in the sidewall of the card cage.
4. Place the wiring harness into the EMI choke, which is attached to the rear wall, and snap the
EMI choke cover closed. Plug the white connector into the motherboard.
5. Make sure the 9745 Telnet I/O module is fully seated into the Redundant Power Supply I/O if
one is present.
6. Install the two side screws and four rear screws, which hold the 9745 Telnet I/O in the 9745
chassis.
7. Install the CPU board, driver board, and the communications module.
8. Connect the front RS-232 port cable to the communications module.
9. Close the RFL 9745 front cover.
DATA PORT
Use the supplied ribbon cable to connect the MA-490 Data port to the RFL 9745 rear panel RS-232
connector.
CRAFT PORT
Connect a PC or laptop to the Craft port on the MA-490 using the cable shown in Figure 10. Then
program the MA-490 TCP/IP parameters and Data port parameters in accordance with your
requirements. The instructions for doing this start on page 15.
