11.2 FileSystem Installation Information
11.2.1 Overview
The Tomtec File System Monitor and Logging Service (FSMLS) is a component of
Tomtec software’s CFR11 compliance system.
This program’s purpose is to store all user programs, and to store all machine
operational parameters. In the event that a particular situation must be duplicated, the
machine parameters, and user program that was in operation at any particular moment,
as well as who was performing the operation, may be retrieved.
11.2.2 Installation
The installation and configuration of the FSMLS, can be broken down into the following
steps.
• Install / Upgrade of Monitor Service
o (Possible install of .Net Framework 2.0)
• Configuration of Monitor Service
• Security configuration for system.
a. Installation of FSMLS
The installation of the FSMLS is started automatically when the CD is inserted, or can
be launched manually by running setup.exe from the root of the CDROM. If a previous
version of the FSMLS is installed, and you are upgrading, the old version must be
uninstalled first. To uninstall the FSMLS you must first stop the service which can be
done with the configuration program.
The only question the installer asks is if the Application icons should be installed for all
users or just the current user. It is usually safe to say all users.
If the .net framework is not installed on the machine, you will be told so, and the install
will end. Proceed to step c and when this is complete, you may restart the install.
