PROCEDURE
1 Put the assembly tool (004, Figure 7-64) on an applicable surface.
2 If necessary you can decrease the temperature of the valve seat (003) to a maximum of
-30°C for easier assembly.
WARNING
Injury hazard. Wear protection gloves, when you have decreased the temperature to less
than 0°C.
3 Put the valve seat (003) onto the assembly tool (004).
4 Apply a thin layer of oil to the O-rings.
5 Apply a thin layer of oil to the contact surface of the valve seat (003).
6 Attach the O-rings to the related grooves of the valve seat (003).
7 Attach two eye bolts (002) on the valve cage (005).
8 Attach two slings (001) to the eye bolts (002) and to the engine room crane.
9 Operate the engine room crane to lift the valve cage (005) some millimeter above the
valve seat (003).
10 Install the applicable hydraulic cylinder (007) to the spindle of the assembly tool (004).
11 Connect the hydraulic cylinder (007) to the HP oil pump.
12 Carefully operate the HP oil pump to slowly lift the valve seat until the seat shoulder
touches the valve cage (005).
13 Operate the engine room crane to put the complete valve cage (005) together with the
assembly tool (004) back on the surface.
14 Remove the HP oil pump and the hydraulic cylinder (007).
15 Operate the engine room crane to put the complete valve cage (005) to an applicable
position related to your next procedure.
16 Remove the slings (001) and the eye bolts (002).
