3. Main Bearing Cover
No. 1 − Removal
1) Remove the covers (2 and 3, Fig. 11).
2) Loosen the elastic studs (5) and
remove their nuts according to 1132−1.
3) Remove oil pipe 4 from main bearing
cover (Fig. 12).
4) Do a check of the bearing clearance
refer to0330−1, Top and Bottom End
Bearings for comparison.
5) Attach the lug (94116C) to the main
bearing cover (1, Fig. 13) (see also
Fig. 5).
6) Attach the chain block (94017−006,
Fig. 13) and the shackle (94018C) to
the column.
7) Lift the bearing cover (1).
8) Attach the engine room crane to the
bearing cover (1).
9) Remove the chain block (94017−006).
