6.5.3 Bowl
1 Check for impact marks and corrosion in bowl
body nave and on spindle taper .
2 Fitting new valve plugs on the operating slide .

a Remove any impact marks using
a scraper and/or a whetstone.
b Rust can be removed by using a
fine-grain emery cloth (e.g. No. 320).
c Finish with polishing paper (e.g. No. 600).

vibrate while running.
d Lubricate to prevent further corrosion.

b Carefully tap in new valve plugs, using a
clean, soft-faced hammer.
