• Check whether there is flow of BPDUs between devices.

Check whether the port is receiving any packets from the peer. First clear the statistics
and issue the above command using the clear spanning-tree statistics
command.
• Check
to see whether the port is receiving any BPDU using the show spanning-tree
statistics command.
The number of packets received should be incrementing on a regular basis if this bridge is not
root-bridge. If the bridge is non-root and if it is not receiving the packets then it could be a
hardware problem. Try to hot swap the card.
