■ Double Feeding Detection Control
The Double Feeding Sensors (S501, F502/S503, S504) are installed at locations shown below to detect double-fed paper.
The Through Path Unit comes standard with the Through Path Double Feeding Sensors (S420, S421).
The Double Feeding Sensors transmit ultrasonic waves in bursts and determine double feeding by detecting their echo levels.
When two sheets of paper are fed, the echo level lowers due to a layer of air trapped between them. When this occurs, the double-
fed paper is sent to the Escape Unit.
