Engine system MIL
When the ENGINE START/STOP button is in
“ON” position, the MIL will come on.
The lamp will go out after the engine is started.
This indicates that the EMS works normally.
If this lamp comes on when the engine is
running, the EMS may work abnormally and
need inspection. Please go to the authorized
dealer immediately for inspection and repair (if
necessary) of the system.
When this lamp comes on, the following items
should be observed to reduce or avoid potential
damage to the EMS:
● Avoid a vehicle speed above 70km/h.
● Avoid harsh accelerations or brake
applications.
● Avoid driving on a steep slope.
● Avoid carrying or towing unnecessary loads.
If the vehicle is driven further without the
engine control system being properly
repaired, the power performance and fuel
economy ill be decreased, and even the
EMS be damaged, thus affecting the vehicle
warranty coverage.
EPB fault warning lamp*
When the ENGINE START/STOP button is set
to “ON” position, the EPB fault warning lamp will
come on and then go out.
If the EPB has fault, this lamp will stay on, and
the EPB fault warning lamp will flash. Stop the
vehicle safely as quickly as possible. Shut down
the engine immediately and contact the
authorized dealer.
Tire pressure warning lamp
When the ENGINE START/STOP button is set
to “ON” position, the tire pressure warning lamp
will come on and then go out. This indicates that
the TPMS works normally.
If this warning lamp stays on, it indicates that the
pressure in one or more of the tires is abnormal
and you should stop the vehicle safely as soon
as possible to check the condition of the tires.
See page 186 and for more information on tire
pressure.
ESC fault warning lamp
With the ignition switch in the “ON” position, if
the ESC fault warning lamp comes on briefly and
then goes out, it indicates that the ESC system
works normally.
When ESC is working, this lamp will flash, for 3
times per second; and when ESC neither fails
nor works, this lamp will go out.
Under severe road conditions, if the ESC
manually disabled, this lamp will come on.
If the ESC is not turned off manually, the ESC
fault warning lamp will stay on, indicating that the
ESC works abnormally. Please go to the
authorized dealer for check or repair
immediately. (See page 139 for details)
