When the vehicle power is ON and the engine
is not started, only the P and N gears can be
shifted:
● Gearshift from P to N: When the vehicle
power is ON, if you close the doors or fasten
the seat belt, the P gear can be shifted to the
N gear; there is no response to other
gearshift operations; when the vehicle is
stationary in the N gear, if you press the P
button, the P gear can be engaged.
When the vehicle power is OFF, the P gear
can be automatically engaged:
● When the vehicle power is ON, the gear is in
the non-P position, and the vehicle speed is
below 2km/h, if you switch the vehicle power
from ON to ACC or OFF, the transmission P
gear will be automatically engaged.
Never turn off the ENGINE START/STOP
button, open the door or unfasten the seat
belt while the vehicle is running; otherwise, it
may cause damage to the vehicle or injury to
person.
Automatic P gear engagement upon sliding:
● When the vehicle power is ON, the gear is in
the non-P position, and the vehicle speed is
not above 2km/h for engagement of P gear, if
the driver's seat belt is unfastened and the
driver's door is opened, the transmission P
gear will be automatically engaged; before
the driver's door is closed or the driver's seat
belt is fastened, the transmission P gear
cannot be disengaged regardless of any
gearshift request.
Gearshift special scenarios:
● In general, when the driver leaves the
vehicle, the gear should be kept in the P
position, otherwise there may be safety risks.
● If the driver wants to leave the vehicle with
the gear in the N position, he or she can
switch the vehicle power to ON, fasten the
driver's seat belt from the back, set the shift
lever to the N position, and then open the
door to get off the vehicle (this can avoid
triggering the automatic P gear engagement
upon sliding).
When the driver leaves the vehicle, the gear
should be kept in the P position, otherwise
there may be safety risks.
Gear description*
“P” (parking gear):
This position is used for parking or starting the
engine. Make sure the vehicle stops completely
before setting the shift lever to the “P” position.
“R” (reverse gear):
This position is used for reversing. Make sure
that the vehicle is completely stopped and the
engine is running at an idle speed before setting
the shift lever to the “R” position. When setting
the shift lever from “P” to “R”, be sure to depress
the brake pedal. After the shift lever is set to “R”,
the reversing lamp will automatically come on.
“N” (neutral gear):
When the vehicle needs to stop for a short time,
set the shift lever to the “N” position. At this time,
the transmission is not locked, and it is required
to depress the brake pedal or apply the parking
brake.
If it is required to set the shift lever from “N” to
“R”, be sure to depress the brake pedal first to
stop the vehicle completely before gear shift
operation.
