Handling for accidental puncture
The tubeless tires are used for this vehicle, so
puncture is not common in normal driving and
even rarer if the tires are properly maintained.
However, in the event of a puncture, the
following measures are recommended:
● If a front tire bursts, the vehicle will run
sideways under the drag effect of the flat tire.
At this point, immediately release the
accelerator pedal, hold the steering wheel to
control the steering, keep the vehicle in the
original lane, and gently depress the brake
pedal to park the vehicle in the emergency
lane or at a safe position, and install the
spare wheel to the rear wheel, and finally
install the rear wheel to the faulty front wheel.
● If a rear tire bursts, the vehicle may suffer
abnormal vibration and noise during driving,
but the steering can still be controlled. At this
point, release the accelerator pedal, turn the
steering wheel in the direction in which the
vehicle is expected to travel to maintain
control of the vehicle, and slightly depress
the brake pedal to park the vehicle in the
emergency lane or at a safe position, and
then replace with the spare wheel.
Replacing rim
If the rim is distorted, cracked, corroded or
severely scratched, replace it. If the tire leaks
due to rim damage, the rim shall also be
replaced (except for some repairable aluminum
rims).
The load capacity, specification, offset, and
installation dimension of the new rim shall be the
same as those of the original wheel, and the
installation method shall be the same.
● The use of unsuitable rims will affect the
vehicle's braking and handling, which may
cause the tires to come out of the rim and
cause the vehicle to run out of control,
thus leading to an accident.
● The use of rims that do not conform to
specifications may also cause problems
regarding bearing life, cooling of brake,
calibration of speedometer and odometer,
ground clearance, clearance between tire
or tire chain and body and chassis, etc.
● It is also dangerous to replace with the
used rim. As it is unknown how the old
wheel has ever been used or how many
miles has the old rim ever traveled, there
may be invisible cracks that may cause
an accident while driving.
Tire chain
Do not install tire chains that are not approved
by Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle Company.
Unsuitable tire chains will damage tires, rims,
brakes and vehicle body. Please note the
following requirements when using:
● The tire chains can only be mounted to the
drive wheels (front wheels). Please observe
the tire chain installation instructions and
speed limits for different road conditions.
● To avoid tire damage and excessive wear of
the tire chains, be sure to remove the tire
chains when driving on snow-free roads.
● Please choose suitable snow chains
according to the tire models:
