Preparation before driving
1
CAUTION
Move the driver’s seat and front
passenger’s seat backward as far as
possible. But for driver’s seat, the seating
position shall be such adjusted that safe
driving is ensured.
Hold the outer ring of the steering wheel
only, so as to allow the airbag to deploy
fully.
Always lean your back against the seat
back while the vehicle is running. Neither
lean forward, nor lean against the door or
side window, otherwise, your body may
be in the deployment area of the airbag.
Always place your feet in the foot rest
area in front of the seat instead of on the
instrument panel or other places.
Otherwise, your feet may be in the
deployment area of the airbag.
For passengers with height less than
1.50m, the seat belt may be unable to be
fastened in a proper way, and another
appropriate restraint system shall be
used.
In some lateral collisions, rear-end
collisions, rollovers or minor frontal
collision, the frontal airbag may not
deploy. Therefore, always fasten the seat
belt to mitigate the risk of injuries in
different accidents.
In frontal collisions, rear-end collisions,
rollovers or minor side collisions, the side
airbag and side curtain airbag will
generally not inflate. Therefore, always
fasten the seat belt to mitigate the risk of
injuries in different accidents.
Side curtain airbags only provide
additional protection in the event of a
severe side collision, and it can not
replace the role of seat belts.
In order to ensure that the side curtain
airbag* can be inflated and deployed
normally, no obstruction is allowed
between the side curtain airbag and the
occupants.
Before driving the vehicle, in order to avoid
risk of injury resulted from high-speed
deployment of airbag, ensure that:
there are no personnel, animals or articles
between driver/passenger and the airbag.
there are no hard objects on the handle or
coat rack, such as clothes hanger.
there are no objects between the seat and
the door/B-pillar.
there are no accessories (such as a cup
holder) in the deployment area of airbag.
there are no heavy, sharp or fragile
objects in the pocket of driver or
passenger.

Recommendations for effective use of
airbags
To ensure the effective functioning of airbag, it is
recommended to:
Fasten the seat belt well;
Do not fix or stick anything on the airbag
cover in the center of steering wheel and on
the dashboard where the passenger’s airbag
is located, as this may impede the normal
deployment of airbag or cause injury to the
concerning occupant when the airbag
deploys;
Do not place anything between human body
and airbag;
Do not grasp the steering wheel spoke or put
hands on the central airbag cover while
driving;
Do not smoke during driving (which may
pose risk of scalding or injury when the
airbag deploys);
Do place feet on the instrument panel when
the vehicle is running;
Restrain the children in the child restraint
system installed on either of the two outboard
rear seats.
