Preparation before driving
Precautions for SRS
The protection effect of supplemental restraint
system (SRS) for short person is lower than
normal case. Always fasten the seat belt
properly, and always keep a certain distance
from the steering wheel, instrument panel and
door components.
SRS only plays as an assistance for protection,
and in no case can it replace the seat belt in the
accident. However, airbag may also cause skin
scaling or other injuries.
In order to provide timely protection for
occupants, the airbag will deploy rapidly, and if
any occupant stays too close to or lean against
the airbag, the inflation and deployment force of
airbag will increase the risk of personal injury.
The airbag will deflate quickly after inflation.
The supplemental restraint system (SRS) is
ready for working only when the ENGINE
START/STOP button is set to “ON” position.
● When the airbag deploys, a big BOMB
sound and smoke will be produced. Such
smoke, through non-toxic and not
constituting a fire, should be avoided from
being inhaled, as it will irritate the
respiratory tract of patients with
respiratory disease and induce asphyxia.
Therefore, once the airbag is deployed,
get off the vehicle as soon as possible
and go a place with fresh air.
● In some lateral collisions, rear-end
collisions, rollovers or minor frontal
collision, the frontal airbag may not
deploy. Therefore, always fasten the seat
belt to mitigate the risk of injuries in
different accidents.
● In frontal collisions, rear-end collisions,
rollovers or minor side collisions, the side
airbag* and side curtain airbag will
generally not inflate. Therefore, always
fasten the seat belt to mitigate the risk of
injuries in different accidents.
● After the airbag is inflated, many parts of
the supplemental restraint system will
become very hot. Therefore, do not touch
any of them for fear of scalding.
● Do not place any object between the
passenger and steering wheel, on the
instrument panel or near front door trim
and front passenger seat. Otherwise, the
object will be thrown out in the process of
airbag deployment, posing risk of injury to
passengers.
● Never modify any SRS component or
circuit, so as to prevent accidental
deployment of airbag or damage of SRS.
● Do not modify the electrical system,
suspension system, front structure and
side roof of this vehicle. Otherwise, SRS
may not work normally.
● Repair of supplemental restraint system
and its peripheral components shall be
carried out by authorized dealers. Do not
modify or cut off the SRS circuit.
● Only when the driver is far enough away
from the steering wheel can the frontal
airbag play its full protection role.
