SRS fault indication
The SRS fault indicator lamp is indicated as
on the instrument cluster. It is used to
monitor frontal airbags, side airbags, side curtain
airbags, impact sensors, pre-tensioner seat belt
system*, SRS fault indicator lamp and impact
output signals, and diagnose the frontal airbag
module, side airbag module, side curtain airbag
module, impact sensors, pre-tensioner seat
belts*, fault indicator lamp, impact output signals
and all associated circuits.
When the ENGINE START/STOP button is set
to “ON” position, the SRS fault indicator lamp will
stay on for 6s and then go out if the SRS is
normal..
However, if:
● the SRS fault warning lamp stays on after 6
s;
● the SRS fault warning lamp flashes
intermittently;
● the SRS fault warning lamp is not on,
It indicates that the supplemental restraint
system (SRS), including frontal airbag module,
side airbag module, side curtain airbag module,
impact sensor, pretensioner seat belt, fault
warning lamp, impact output signal and all
related circuits, may be faulty and needs to be
repaired or replaced. Please contact the
authorized dealer immediately.
Maintenance and scrapping of airbags
SRS components are installed in different
locations of the vehicle, and any operation to the
SRS or removal/installation of SRS components
due to maintenance of other vehicle parts shall
be carried out by professional technicians,
otherwise the SRS may be damaged, and may
deploy abnormally or does not deploy in case of
an accident.
If the vehicle is to be scrapped, the airbag, if not
deployed, constitutes a potential hazard, and
needs to be deployed by a professional
technician.
● The airbag, once deployed, is irreparable
and needs to the replaced with a new
one.
● If any damage is found at the front or
sides of the vehicle, please get the SRS
checked at an authorized dealer.
● When the airbag module, pretensioner
module or vehicle is to be scrapped,
always get the airbag and pretensioner
modules deployed by a professional
technician using the special deployment
equipment for the sake of safety.
Improper disposal may result in personal
injury.
The following operations shall be carried out
by the authorized dealer, as if not handled
properly, damage of supplemental restraint
system (SRS) components or abnormal
deployment of airbag may occur:
● Installation, removal, disassembly and
repair of supplemental restraint system.
● Replacement or modification of steering
wheel, instrument panel, console,
instrument cluster, seats or seat trims,
doors, side walls or roof.
● Repair or modification of front bumper,
front side member, etc.
