Adjustment before driving
Preparation before driving
Intelligent high beam control (IHBC)*
The IHBC automatically switches between high
beams and low beams according to the driving
environment, so as to avoid the driver from
distraction due to high/low beam control, and at
the same time avoid dazzling the driver of the
front vehicle or oncoming vehicle, thus improving
driving safety.
The IHBC senses the ambient illumination and
front vehicles through environmental sensors.
When the ambient light is dim, there is no
vehicle in front and own vehicle speed is higher
than 40km/h, the high beams will be
automatically turned on; when own vehicle
speed is lower than 30km/h, there is a vehicle
ahead or the ambient light is bright, the high
beams will be automatically turned off.
Turning on IHBC
Turn-on method of IHBC: turn on the IHBC
switch in “CarCenter” – “Body setting” – “Exterior
lighting” – “IHBC” on the MP5 display, then align
the mark on the lighting control knob with
the position , and push the lighting
combination switch forward and perpendicular to
the steering wheel plane.
After the IHBC is turned on, the IHBC indicator
lamp in the instrument cluster comes on in
, and turns blue after high beams are
turned on.
Function fault of IHBC
If the IHBC fails, the IHBC indicator lamp in the
instrument cluster comes on in yellow , and
the text reminder “IHBC is unavailable” pops up
in the instrument cluster.
Factors affecting IHBC
Due to unavoidable environmental factors and
conditions, it may be necessary to manually
switch high beams and low beams in the
following conditions:
● Driving in heavy fog or heavy rain;
● Driving in windy and snowy weather or on
muddy roads;
● Driving in the bright moonlight;
● Driving in freezing rain;
● Driving on dimly lit streets;
● Front fog lamps of the oncoming vehicle are
on;
● There are pedestrians on the road or
adjacent roads;
● There are reflective signs near the road;
● Light from the oncoming vehicle is blocked by
fences, shrubs, etc.;
● There are vehicles running on other roads;
● Driving on hilltops or potholes in roads;
● Driving at sharp corners.
