Three-way catalytic converter
The three-way catalytic converter is an emission
control device of the exhaust system.
Discharged gas burns at a high temperature in
the three-way catalytic converter, which helps
reduce exhaust missions.
● As components and exhaust of the
exhaust system are very hot, people,
animals and flammable materials shall be
kept away from them.
● Do not park the vehicle on the ground
with flammable materials, such as hay,
waste paper or dead leaves. Otherwise,
they may be ignited, causing a fire.
● Avoid driving frequently with very little
fuel. If the vehicle keeps running when
fuel is insufficient, it is easy to cause
intermittent and irregular fuel supply to the
engine, thus damaging the three-way
catalytic converter.
● When the engine is warming up, do not let
it idle at a high speed.
● Do not start the engine by pushing or
towing the vehicle.
Exhaust (carbon monoxide)
Do not run the engine for a long time in a closed
place, for example, a garage.
When the vehicle is stopped, nobody shall stay
therein with the engine keeping running for a
long time nor the heater or AC kept on.
Keep the trunk lid closed while driving;
otherwise, exhaust gas will enter the passenger
compartment.
In the following cases, please go to an
authorized dealer for overhaul:
1. It is suspected that exhaust has entered the
passenger compartment;
2. It is found that there are abnormal sounds
from the exhaust system;
3. The exhaust system, underbody or rear of the
vehicle is damaged in an accident.
Exhaust contains colorless and tasteless
carbon monoxide, which will lead to loss of
consciousness and even death if inhaled in
large quantities.
Driving in the rain
When it rains, as the visibility decreases,
windows get foggy and roads become slippery,
please drive carefully.
A downpour will worsen the line of sight. Turn on
the headlamps, fog lamps and hazard warning
lamps during driving.
Braking efficiency will be degraded if brakes are
wetted. It is necessary to increase distances
from other vehicles and reduce the vehicle
speed during driving in rainy days.
Don't drive at a high speed in rainy days, as the
higher the vehicle speed, the more likely the
vehicle hydroplanes.
If there are waterlogged areas on roads,
there is a danger of hydroplaning.
Emergency braking, rapid acceleration and
rapid turns may cause tire slippage and
reduce the maneuverability of the vehicle,
causing accidents.
