System Start Up and Shutdown
This section describes the procedure for starting up and shutting down the Definium 5000 system.
Start Up
1. Press the ON button located at the CRIB Console (Figure 4-1).
2. Wait for the system software to boot up and the login screen to appear.
NOTE: The unit may take 3 minutes for the system to start and software to boot up. You cannot take
acquisitions until the software is fully booted.

WARNING: In the event of an emergency, press the “Emergency Stop” button on the system cabinet,
the receptor, or the CRIB with force.

about the CRIB and its functions.
Shutdown
Option 1 for Shutdown:
1. Close all current exams.
2. Press and hold the Power OFF button on the CRIB (Figure 4-1) for 5 seconds.
A message will appear: "System shutdown in progress; may take 2 minutes."
3. The screen will close and the system will then shutdown.
Option 2 for Shutdown:
1. Close all current exams.
2. Press the [UTILITY] button at the top of the Worklist screen.
