Automatic trailer hitch
Hitching the trailer
Position the trailer hitch at the same height as the
drawbar of the trailer.
1. For adjustment, lever (1)must be pulled up-
ward and trailer hitch (4) must be adjusted to
the specified height in the rail (2) .
2. Loosen the lever (1) and ensure that the pins
snap into the rail (2).
3. Pull the release lever (3) upward, until the
hitch pin (5) releases the coupling jaw.
4. Drive the vehicle with the coupling jaw
against the trailer drawbar. The coupling clos-
es on contact; the trailer pin (5) detaches it-
self through the eye of the drawbar.
WARNING
Risk of accident, risk of crushing

Always close the trailer hitch com-
pletely
5. For overrun-braked trailers, hook in the catch
rope.
6. Connect the 7-pole plug for the trailer lighting
to the socket (6).
7. Remove the roll-away protector from the trail-
er.
8. Release handbrake on the trailer.
9. Check the functioning of the lighting and the
brakes.
ADVICE
The hitch can also be manually closed
by pulling the opened release lever
(3a) to the left.
