Bleed fuel system
If air has penetrated into the fuel system, the fuel
system must be bled.
Air can penetrate into the fuel system if
•
the fuel tank ran dry
•
the fuel filter was replaced
•
the fuel system has a leak and
•
after repairs of the fuel system
ADVICE
Capture leaking fluid with an appropri-
ate container and dispose of it proper-
ly in accordance with applicable regu-
lations.
WARNING
Danger of fire
•
Do not bring fuel into contact with
hot surfaces, electrical compo-
nents or open flames
The engine is equipped with an automatic bleeding
system.
1. Fill the fuel tank sufficiently with diesel fuel.
2. Start the vehicle as described (see page 94).
3. Repeat the starting process until the engine
runs without misfiring.
