Emissions
Exhaust gas
DANGER
Danger of poisoning
•
Do not run the engine in enclosed
spaces
The engine emits exhaust gas to the
environment when running The ex-
haust gas consists primarily of water
vapour, carbon dioxide (CO
2
), carbon
monoxide, hydrocarbons (CH), nitro-
gen oxides (NOx) and soot. The com-
ponents CO, CH and NOx are toxic
and harmful to health and must not
be inhaled in high concentrations. Soot
is considered a carcinogenic material.
The particulates contained in exhaust
gas are especially carcinogenic.
Battery
DANGER
Risk of explosion
•
Ventilate sufficiently
•
Keep away from open flames
•
Observe safety rules for handling
the battery
The battery emits a mixture of oxy-
gen and hydrogen (oxyhydrogen gas)
while being charged. This gas mixture
is an explosion risk and must not be
ignited.
Heat
DANGER
Danger of fire
•
Keep inflammable materials away
from the exhaust system
The exhaust gases are very hot and
can ignite combustible material
