Working in the vicinity of overhead power
lines

Danger from high voltage

Maintain an adequate safety mar-
gin between overhead power lines
and the vehicle (see table)
The safety margin depends on the rated voltage of
the overhead power line:
Voltage Safety margin
> 1 kV 1 m
< 1 kV > 110 kV 3 m
< 110 kV > 220 kV 4 m
< 220 kV > 1380 kV 5 m
Unknown voltage 5 m
Cab
The cab conforms to the requirements of the cab
classification (standard: EN 15695-1:2009). There
are four categories for cabs that surround the dri-
ver with a physical barrier and prevent ambient
air from entering the driver's environment unhin-
dered.
Category I
Cab that provides no defined protection level
against hazardous substances
Category II
Cab that protects against dust
Category III
Cab that protects against dust and aerosols
Category IV
Cab that protects against dust, aerosols and
vapours
The cabs of the C250, C270, C350, C370 vehicles
correspond to Category II
