Towing
C270_131
1
If your vehicle is not roadworthy, it can be towed
away. The trailer hitch (1) or the top link support at
the front of the vehicle should be used for towing.
WARNING
Danger of accident
The towing vehicle must have suf-
ficient traction and braking force
for the unbraked towed load.
1. The towed load corresponds at most to the
permissible gross weight. You can find the
permissible gross weight on the type plate of
the vehicle or in the tables of weights in the
Technical Data section.
2. Hook the towing device to the trailer hitch
(1). If the brakes have failed use only a rigid
towing rod.
3. Switch on ignition.
4. Turn off the parking brake switch.
5. Tow only with a shut-off engine, so that the
wheel motors do not block.
6. Allow the vehicle to be towed at no more than
5 km/h and only out of the danger zone. No
long distances, because otherwise there may
be damage to the hydrostatic drive.
7. Park the vehicle secured against roll-away.
CAUTION
Danger of accident
With the engine shut off, the steering
is sluggish. You can steer only with an
increased exertion of force.
