Safety instruction for retrofitting
The vehicle is equipped with electronic components
whose operation may be influenced by electromag-
netic emissions from other equipment. These in-
fluences can endanger people if the safety instruc-
tions below are not observed:
•
Have equipment installed by a specialist shop
•
Before installation of electrical or electronic de-
vices with connections to the vehicle network,
there must be a check of whether this installa-
tion causes interference with vehicle electron-
ics or other components
•
The installed devices must conform to the ap-
plicable EMC Directive 2009/64/EC and bear
the CE mark
•
If you install a mobile communications sys-
tem (radio, mobile telephone) (or have one in-
stalled), the following requirements must be
satisfied:
– Only install devices with a valid approval
(e.g. BTZ approval in Germany)
– The device must be permanently installed
– Operation of portable or mobile devices in-
side the vehicle is permissible only via a
connection to a permanently installed exter-
nal antenna
– The transmission section must be installed
spatially separated from the vehicle elec-
tronics
– Ensure that the antenna is installed by a
specialist and has a good connection to the
vehicle earth
•
For the wiring, observe the maximum per-
missible power consumption according to the
manufacturer's installation instructions
•
Disconnect all plugs from the electronics in
case of electric welding work
