• Keep the crane clean. Accumulations of dirt,
grease, oil, rags, paper, and other waste will not
only interfere with safe operation and maintenance
but also create a fire hazard.
• Store tools, oil cans, spare parts, and other
necessary equipment in tool boxes. Do not allow
these items to lie around loose in the operator’s cab
or on walkways and stairs.
• Do not store flammable materials on the crane.
Perform the following procedure before returning the crane
to service.
1. Do not return the crane to service at completion of
maintenance or repair procedures until all guards and
covers have been reinstalled, trapped air has been bled
from the hydraulic systems, safety devices have been
reactivated, and all maintenance equipment has been
removed.
2. Perform a function check to ensure proper operation at
completion of maintenance or repair.
