INSPECTING AND ADJUSTING THE DRUM
CLUTCH— RIGHT REAR DRUM CLUTCH

General
See Figure 5-16 for the following procedure.
The right rear drum clutch used for operation in Clamshell
mode is an internal, expanding band-type clutch that is air-
applied and spring-released. The clutch is mounted on the
right end of the drum shaft.
The drum clutch is controlled by a two-position (on/off)
normally-open solenoid valve located on the left side of the
rotating bed.
A clutch access hole with a removable cover is provided in
the guard over the drum brake and clutch. Make all
inspections and adjustments when the clutch lining is warm
from operation.
