PROBLEM 18
No swing operation, engine does not load.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
No voltage through control handle to controller. No voltage out of controller to pump EDC.
Wiring or switch is bad. Damaged pump or motor. Swing holding brake switch actuated.
CHECKS
Does diagnostic display D2 screen (bank 6) change by 16 when enabling swing holding brake
switch on control handle?
Yes No
Does diagnostic display SWING screen (bank 1) approach
100% handle control when handle is extended in either non-
swinging direction?
Check swing holding brake switch and
wiring to PC. (See Test 12—Checking
Voltage at the Control Handle.)

Does diagnostic display SWING screen (bank 2)
approach 100% pump control when handle is
extended in either non-swinging direction?
Repair or replace
handle or wiring.
Consult dealer/factory.
Repair or replace swing holding brake
switch and/or wiring to PC.
Check wiring connector at pump EDC.
Consult the Manitowoc
Crane Care Lattice Team.
Connect or repair connector.
Manually stroke swing pump. (See Test 10—
Manually Stroking the Pump.) Does platform rotate?
Isolate pump. (See Test 10—Manually Stroking
the Pump.) Manually stroke pump. Is system
pressurized?
Use test plug adapter. (See Tes t
4—Testing the Pump EDC and
Motor PCP.) Is voltage present at
pump EDC?
Replace pump EDC.
Repair or replace motor.
Repair or replace wiring to PC or
consult the Manitowoc Crane
Care Lattice Team.
Repair or replace pump.
