Idletheenginefor3-5minutesbeforeshuttingdown.This
fewminutesofidlingallowsthelubricatingoilandwatertocarry
heatawayfromcomponentsheat-soakedbyhotcombustion/
exhaustgases.
Thelargertheengine,thegreatertheneedforthisidlingperiod.
Thiswillhelpavoiddamagetoturbochargersealsorlikefeatures
ofanenginewhich,aftershutdown,willnolongerbecooledby
thecirculationofoilandcoolant.
1.PlacethetransmissionintheNeutralposition.
2.Applytheparkingbrake.
3.Turnofftheheadlightsandallaccessories.
4.Idleahotenginefor2-5minutestoallowthe
turbochargertocool.
5.RotatethekeycounterclockwisetotheOFFposition,
andremovekeyfromtheignitionswitch.

CAUTION

exceed16.0voltstovehicle'selectricalsystem.
Whenitisnecessarytojump-startavehicle,the
mostreliablemeansistoconnectcharged12-volt
batteries.
