AutoStart/StopSystem
GeneralInformation
Thisoptionalfeatureisdesignedtosavefuel,reduceemissions,
andloweroperatingcosts.Thesystemoperatesautomatically
baseduponprogrammedparameterssuchasbatteryvoltage
levels,engineoiltemperatures,andengineruntimes.
Parametersareprogrammableforspecicoperationsbased
uponcustomerneeds.
AutoStart/StopSwitch
Thisswitchislocatedontheinstrumentpaneland
allowsthedrivertoenableordisabletheautostart/
stopsystem.
•Pressuptoenable
•Pressdowntodisable
NOTE:Toenablesystem,theswitchmustbepressedwithin
30secondsofturningofftheignitionswitch.
Astatusindicatorlightontheswitchprovidessystemstatusas
follows:
•IftheLEDisoff,thesystemhasnotbeenenabled.
•IftheLEDissteadyon,thesystemhasbeenenabledand
theautomaticstart/stopoftheenginewilloccurwhenthe
conditionsaremet(bunkswitchispressed,voltageislow,
andengineoiltemperatureislow).
•IftheLEDisashingataslowrate,oneoftheinterlocks
isnotset.
•IftheLEDisashingfast,afaulthasbeendetectedafter
threeattemptstostartthevehicle.
SafetyInterlocks
Tooperatetheautostart/stopsystem,safetyinterlocksmustbe
setasfollows:
•TransmissionisinNeutral.
•Parkingbrakeisset.
•Clutchisnotdepressed(Fortransmissionswithclutch
pedal).
•Hoodisclosed.
•VehicleSpeedislessthan5mph(8km/h).
•IgnitionswitchisintheOFFposition.
Safetyinterlocksalsodoubleasananti-theftfeaturewhen
vehicleisrunningandwillshutdownengineimmediatelyif
parkingbrakeisreleased,clutchisdepressed,gearistakenout
ofNeutral,orvehiclespeedisgreaterthan5mph(8km/h).
