NOTE:Performthefollowingprocedurespriorto
conductingthepre-tripinspection.
Setparkingbrakes.
Turnonparkinglightsandhazardlights.
Unhookthehoodlatches,raisethehood,unlatchand
lowertheoptionalTilt-awaybumper.
Checkunderthevehicleforoil,fuel,orotheruidleaks,
orothersignsofdamage.
Usepullcablesoropendraincockstoallowairtanksto
expelanyexistingwater.Releasepullcablesorclose
draincocks.
Installwheelchocksontractorandtrailer,ifattached.
Starttheengineandallowtheairpressuretobuildup
tonormaloperatingpressureof115-130psi(793-896
kPa).Stopengine.
ExteriorLightsCheck
Performanautomaticcheckofallexteriorlightsbydoingthe
followingsteps:
1.PlacetheignitionkeyintheONorACCposition,place
thetransmissioninNeutral,andsettheparkingbrake.
2.PresstheWORKLIGHTswitchforapproximatelytwo
secondsbeforereleasingtoactivatethisfeature.
3.Theexteriorlightcheckwillnowcycleallvehiclelights
exceptthebackuplight(s).Thetestashestheexterior
lightsonandoffinthree,2-secondcycles.Therst
2-secondperiodilluminatesparklights(clearance,
identication,sidemarker,andlicenseplatelights),
turnsignallights,lowbeamheadlights,andfoglights.
Thesecond2-secondperiodilluminatesparklights
(clearance,identication,sidemarker,andlicenseplate
lights),highbeamheadlights,brakelights,andwork
lights.Thethird2-secondperiodturnsoffalllights.This
cyclerepeatsuntildeactivatedbytheoperator.
4.Walkaroundvehicleandinspectilluminationoflights.
5.Tocancelthisfeature,dooneofthefollowing:pressthe
brakepedal,manuallyturnonanyexternallight,turnthe
keytoOFF,orreleasetheparkingbrake.Thefeature
willautomaticallycancelapproximately10minutesafter
activationifnotdeactivatedbytheoperator.
6.Tocheckthebackuplights,thereneedtobetwo
people.Keeptheenginerunning.Depresstheclutch(if
applicable)andselectreversewhilethesecondperson
observesbackuplightoperation.
