RearAirRideSuspensionsautomaticallyadjusttodifferentloads
tomaintainconstantframeheight.Thesystemmaintainsvehicle
ridequalityanddrivercomfort.
RearAirSuspensionAirDump
Thisfeaturealsoallowstherearofthevehicletolowerseveral
inchesfortrailerattachment/detachment.
Thesystemiscontrolledbythetwo-positionSUSP
/DUMPswitchwithanindicatorlightintheDUMP
position.Thisswitchcontrolssolenoids,whichdirect
airtothesuspensiondumpandheightvalve.
WhentheSUSP/DUMPswitchisintheDUMP
positionandthevehiclespeedisbelow5mph(8
km/h),airsuppliedtotherearairsuspensionis
released,loweringtheframeforloading.
PlacingtheswitchintheSUSPpositioncausesairtollor
remainintheairsuspensionforproperoperatingrideheight.
TheSUSP/DUMPswitchwilloperatetheIROSsystemonly
iftheignitionswitchisineitherACCorONpositionandthe
airtankshavesufcientpressuretollthesuspension.When
theignitionswitchisturnedoff,powertothesolenoidwillbe
removed;therefore,thesuspensionwillremaininthestatelast
setbytheSUSP/DUMPswitch.
NOTE:Thesuspensionwilldumpwhentheignitionswitch
isineithertheACCorONposition,butwillllonlywhen
theignitionswitchisintheONposition.
NOTE:TheSUSP/DUMPswitchfunctionswillbeinhibited
byeitheraTractionControlorABSevent.Ineithereventfor
eitherSUSPorDUMPoperation,theASDswitchwillhaveto
bemanuallyrecycledaftertheeventhaspassedinorderto
completetheoperation.
NOTE:Theelectricalsystemwillautomaticallyswitchfrom
DUMPtoSUSPifthevehiclespeedexceeds5mph(8km/h).
Oncethisoccurs,theonlymeanstodeatethesuspension
willbetoslowthevehicleto5mphandrecycletheSUSP/
DUMPswitchtotheDUMPposition.
AirSuspensionSystemFaults
•Theinstrumentpanelgaugeclusterwillissueanaudible
10-beepalarmwheneverthedriverpushestheDUMP
positionoftheSUSP/DUMPswitchandthevehicle
exceeds5mph(8km/h).
•TheSUSP/DUMPswitchindicatorwillblinkrapidlyin
theeventofasystemcomponentfailureorabadsystem
signalstatus,whentheSUSP/DUMPswitchisinthe
DUMPposition.
