Whenperformingservicerepairsonavehicle,rst:
1.Parkvehicleonlevelconcreteoor.
2.Setparkingbrakeand/orinstallwheelchocksto
preventvehiclefrommoving.
3.Selectjackwitharatedcapacitysufcienttoliftthe
vehicle.
4.Raisevehiclewithjackappliedtoaxle.(Donotuse
bumperasaliftingpoint.)
5.Supportvehiclewithoorstandsunderaxle(s).
Ifaxleorsuspensioncomponentsaretobeserviced,support
vehiclewithoorstandsunderframesidemembers,preferably
betweentheaxles.
ChassisLubrication
Newvehiclesarelubricatedatthefactory.Afterthevehicle
isplacedinoperation,regularlubricationandmaintenance
intervals,basedonthetypeofserviceandroadconditions,
shouldbeestablished.Theloadscarried,speed,roadand
weatherconditionsallcontributetothefrequencyoflubrication
intervals.Thoroughlubricationandmaintenanceatthespecied
intervalswillensureOutstandingLifeCycleValueandwill
reduceoveralloperatingexpense.
Insometypesofoperation,andwhereoperatingconditionsare
extremelysevere(suchasindeepwater,mudorunusuallydusty
conditions),thevehiclemayrequirerelubricationafterevery24
hoursofoperation.
Onlylubricantsofsuperiorquality,suchasFleetrite
®
lubricants,
shouldbeused.Theuseofinferiorproductswillreducethe
servicelifeofthevehicleorresultinfailureofitscomponents.
Navistar,Inc.recommendstheuseofFleetrite
®
lubricantsand
OEMoriginalequipmentparts.
Thelubricationintervalsspeciedshouldbeperformedat
whateverintervaloccursrst,whetheritismiles(kilometers),
hours,ormonths.

INTERVALSANDSPECIFICATIONS
AirConditioningServiceChecks
Haveyourairconditioningsystemservicedeachspring.The
refrigerantcharge,cleanlinessofcondenser-evaporatorcores,
cablter,andbeltconditionareessentialtoairconditioning
performance.
Removethefreshairlter(s)onceeachseasonandcheck
forthingslikedirtandlint.Replaceifnecessary.Vehicles
operatinginunusuallydustyconditionsmayrequireinspecting
andreplacingtheairlter(s)moreoften.
