ChargeAirCooler
Eachengineisequippedwithachargeaircoolingsystem.The
functionofthechargeaircooleristocoolthehotcompressedair
beforeitenterstheengine’sintakemanifold.Thissystemuses
ambientairasthecoolingmediumbyallowingtheintakeairto
passthroughanetworkofheatexchangingnsandtubesprior
toenteringthecombustionchamber.Theresultingcoolerintake
airisdenserthanuncooledairandwillallowadditionalfueltobe
injectedforgreaterpowerwhilehelpingtoreduceemissions.

theseenginecontrolsystems.
EngineBrake
WARNING
Topreventpropertydamage,personalinjury,
and/ordeath,donotusetheenginebrakeon
slipperyroadsurfaces.Doingsomaycause
wheelslippageand/orlossofvehiclecontrol.
NOTE:Theenginebrakeshouldneverbeconsidereda
substituteforthevehicleservicebrakes.Theservice
brakesshouldalwaysbeviewedastheprimaryvehicle
brakingsystem.Theenginebrakecannotbringthevehicle
toacompletestop.Onlytheservicebrakescanbringthe
vehicletoacompletestop.

bythedriver,usingtheENGINEBRAKEON/OFF
switchonthesteeringwheelandtheENGINEBRAKE
