WARNING
Topreventpropertydamage,personalinjury,and
/ordeath,whenusinganassistanttoreposition
aslidingfthwheel,thedrivermustbeready
tostopassoonasthefthwheelmovestothe
desiredposition.Theassistantmustkeepfeet,
handsandbodyclearofthevehicle’stiresand
othermovingpartstopreventpersonalinjuryor
death.Thedrivermustnotbegintomovethe
vehicleuntiltheassistantisclearandsignalsthe
drivertomovethevehicle.
FifthWheelSlideSwitch(Optional)
AnoptionalFifthWheelSlideswitchmaybepresent.Thisswitch
allowstheoperatortoelectronicallyunlockthefthwheeltoallow
ittobemovedforwardorbackwardandrelockitoncethedesired
positionisattained.
Tounlockthefthwheel,pressinthetopportionof
theswitch.Theswitchindicatorwillilluminatesteadily
whenthefthwheelisunlocked.
NOTE:Thefthwheelcannotbeunlockedaboveapreset
speed(normally2mph[3km/h]).Attemptingtounlock
thefthwheelatanyhigherspeedwillcausetheswitch
indicatortoashslowly(oncepersecond).Thefthwheel
lockautomaticallyengagesifithasbeenunlockedandthe
vehiclespeedexceedsthepresetvalue.
Tolockthefthwheeloncethedesiredpositionisreached,press
thelowerportionoftheswitch.Theswitchindicatorwillturnoff
whenthefthwheelislocked.
NOTE:Afastashing(twicepersecond)switchindicator
signiesaprobleminthefthwheellocksystem.

2.Tiltfthwheelbacktopreventbodydamagewhen
tractorisbackedundertrailer.
3.Blocktrailerwheelsandbesuretrailerspringbrakesare
adjustedandapplied.Neverchaseatrailer.
4.Makesurebrakehosesandlightcordsareclearofthe
fthwheel.
