Operation
Tounlockthefthwheeljaw,performthefollowing:.
•DepressandholdtheUNLOCKFIFTHJAWswitch.
•Iftheswitchisonlypressedmomentarily,jaw
unlockwillnotoccur.
•Acontinuoustonealarmwillsoundwhilethejaw
isunlocking.
•Thecontinuoustonewillthenchangetoa
repetitivebeepindicatingjawunlockingis
complete.
•TheREDindicatorintheswitchwillturnonwhen
jawunlockingiscomplete.
•ReleasetheUNLOCKFIFTHJAWswitchandreleasethe
parkingbraketosilencethealarm.
•TheREDindicatorwillthenturnoff.
•IftheREDindicatorashesfast,this
indicatesafthwheelcontrolsystemerror
orfailure.
•IftheREDindicatorashesslowly,this
indicatesaninterlockproblemsuchasa
parkingbrakenotset.
NOTE:Ifthecontinuoustonealarmshutsoffbeforethe
repetitivebeepisheard,jawunlockingwasincomplete.
FifthWheelJawMonitoring
Theoptionalfthwheeljawmonitoringfeatureisan
electronicjawlockindicatorsystemwithtwoindicators
toshowfthwheeljawstatustothedriver.
Oneindicator,JAWLOCK,hasaGREENthat
illuminateswhenthetrailerisfullylockedontothe
fthwheel.Theotherindicator,JAWUNLOCK,hasa
REDthatilluminateswhenthetrailerisnotfullylocked
ontothefthwheel.Ifneitherindicatorisilluminated,
thisindicatesthejawisunlockedandthetractoris
notconnectedtoatrailerandisinBobtailmode.If
theJAWUNLOCKindicatorisashing,thisindicatesthejawis
lockedandthetrailerisnotconnectedtothefthwheel.Ifboth
indicatorsareashing,thisindicatesasystemerrororfailure.
Bothindicatorswillilluminatebrieywhenthekeyisturnedto
theONpositionasacheckoffunction.
