TirePressureMonitoringSystem
(TPMS)warnsthedriverthattirepressureisbelowsetpressure.
Airpressuresensorsareinstalledontheinnerrimofeach
wheel.Thestandarduserinterfaceisarounddisplaylocated
inthecenterinstrumentpanel.Ifthevehicleisequippedwith
theoptionalElectronicVehicleMonitoringDriverInformation
Display(DID),theDIDwillactastheuserinterfaceandthe
roundSmartWave
®
displayisnotprovided.RefertotheDriver
InformationDisplayoperatorreferencecard,suppliedinthe
vehicle,forproductinformation.
Inspection
Checkconditionoftiresforabnormalwearpatternsandproper
inationpressures.Cutorbrokentirecasingsmustberepaired
orreplaced.
Tiresshouldbeinspectedforthefollowingconditions.Ifanyare
present,thetireshouldberemovedandrepaired,retreaded,or
scrappedastheconditionindicates.
•Anyblister,bump,orraisedportionanywhereonthe
surfaceofthetiretreadorsidewall(otherthanabump
madebyarepair).Theseindicatethestartofinternal
separation.
•Anycutthatreachestothebeltorplycordsoranycut
thatislargeenoughtogrowinsizeanddepth.
•Anynailorpuncturingobject.
•Ifanystoneorobjectisheldbyatreadgrooveandis
startingtodrillintothetreadbase,removetheobject.
Propertireination,toe-inadjustment,loads,androad
speedsareimportantfactorsgoverningtirelife,steeringease,
maneuverability,fueleconomy,andridequality.
Loads
WARNING
Topreventpropertydamage,personalinjury,and
/ordeath,donotloadtiresbeyondtheirrated
capacityasthisdecreasestirelife,requiring
morefrequentreplacementoftires.Overloading
createsanunsafeconditionthatmayresultin
suddenairlossfromatirefailureresultinginan
accident.
NOTE:Theloadratingofthetiresinstalledonyourvehicle
atthetimeofyourvehicle’sproductionisatorinexcess
oftheGrossAxleWeightRating(GAWR)generallyfound
onalabelontheB-pillarofyourvehicle.Whenreplacing
tires,besurethatthereplacementtireloadrating(listed
separatelyinpoundsandkilogramsonthetiresidewall
forsingleordualapplications)multipliedbythenumber
oftiresonthataxleisequaltoorhigherthanthespecic
listedSteerAxleorDriveAxleGAWR.Failuretodosowill
adverselyaffectmaximumload-carryingcapacity.Tires
withthesamesizespecicationdonotalwayshavethe
sameloadspecication.
