EngineIdleShutdownTimer(Optional)
ThisvehiclemaybeequippedwithanoptionalIdleShutdown
Timerthatwilllimitengineidletimetocomplywithcertainstate
andlocalregulationsand/orowner/operatorpreferences.If
theoptionalIdleShutdownTimerisenabled,theenginewillshut
downafterapre-programmedtimeofextendedidling.Thiswill
alsoshutdownallelectricalloadsexceptforlights.Allowable
idletimesmayvaryfromstatetostateandwithowner/operator
preferences.Idletimesmayalsobedependentonvehicle
conditionssuchasParkingBrakestatus,PTO(ifequipped)
status,transmissionstatus,andothers.
Thevehicleowneroroperatorisresponsibleforcompliancewith
allstateandlocalregulations.
Ifthevehiclehasthissystemenabled,theyellow
IDLESHUTDOWNindicatorintheinstrumentpanel
gaugeclusterwillturnon30secondsbeforeengine
shutdown.Thisindicationwillcontinueuntilthe
engineshutsdownorthesystemisreset.
WinterFrontUsage
Unlessextremelycoldconditionsexist,theuseofwinterfronts
orotherairrestrictivedevicesmountedinfrontoftheradiatoris
notrecommendedonInternational
®
ProStar
®
+Seriesvehicles,
whichareequippedwithenginechargeaircoolers.
Coolingairowrestrictionaffectsemissionsandcancausehigh
exhausttemperatures,powerloss,excessivefanusage,anda
reductioninfueleconomy.Ifyouinsistonusingawinterfront,
thedeviceshouldhaveapermanentopeningaboveordirectly
inlinewiththefanhub.Theopening’sminimumdimensionmust
beatleast120in

HotWeatherOperation
1.Keepcoolingsystemlledwithcleanpermanent
antifreezesolutiontoprotectagainstdamageby
overheating.
2.Fillfueltankatendofdailyoperationtoprevent
condensationintank.
3.Keepexternalsurfaceofengine,radiator,chargeair
cooler,ACcondenser,andaccessoriescleantoavoid
dirtbuildup.
Excessivecoolanttemperaturecouldbeexperiencedwhile
drivingintoohighoftransmissiongearratio,whichwouldlug
theengine.T ocorrecttheproblem,enginespeedshouldbe
increasedbydownshiftingintothenextlowergeartoincrease
engineRPMs,whichwillincreasecoolantowthroughthe
radiatorandincreasefanspeed.
