ammablevaporsasthismaycausetheengine
speedtoincreaseuncontrollablyandoverspeed.
Turningofftheignitionswitchwillnotslowor
stoptheengineduetouncontrollablefueling
oftheenginethroughammablevaporsbeing
drawnintotheengineairinlet.Operationof
components,suchasstarter,alternator,electric
motors,andstaticelectricity,couldalsoignite
ammablevapors.
WARNING
Topreventpropertydamage,personalinjury,
and/ordeath,donotoperatethetruckinthe
possiblepresenceofammablevaporsunless
bothacompletehazardanalysisisperformed
andnecessaryadditionalsafetyprocessesand
/orequipmentsuchasvaportesting,airintake
shutoffdevices,andventilationareutilized.
Theoperatorisresponsibleforusingthose
processesand/orequipmenttoensurethatthe
dieselengineandallothercomponentsonthe
truckcanbeoperatedsafelyunderthespecic
conditionsandhazardsthatmaybeencountered.
