Operation
Dualtanksystemsareequippedwithdualdrawanddualreturn
fuellinesystemstoequalizethefueltemperatureandlevel
betweenthedualtanks.
Whenrefueling,besurethatbothtanksarelledcompletely,as
bothtankscannotbelledfromoneside.
FuelingPrecautions
FederalMotorCarrierSafetyRegulationsrequirethedriver
oranyemployeeofamotorcarriertoobservethefollowing
requirements:
WARNING
Topreventpropertydamage,personalinjury,and/ordeath,
donotoverllthefueltank.Anoverlledtankmayleak,
causingfuelsprayandre.Theadvertisedcapacityof
thefueltankisthesumoftheindicatedcapacityonthe
fuelgaugeandthereservefuelinthetank,afterthegauge
indicatesempty.
1.Donotfuelamotorvehiclewiththeenginerunning,
exceptwhenitisnecessarytoruntheenginetofuelthe
vehicle.
2.Donotsmokeorexposeanyopenameinthevicinity
ofavehiclebeingfueled.
3.Donotfuelamotorvehicleunlessthenozzleofthefuel
hoseiscontinuouslyincontactwiththeintakepipeof
thefueltank.
4.Donotpermitanyotherpersontoengageinsuch
activitiesaswouldbelikelytoresultinreorexplosion.
ReserveFuel
Noextrasupplyoffuelforthepropulsionofthevehicleorforthe
operationofaccessoriesshallbecarriedonanymotorvehicle,
exceptinaproperlymountedfueltankortanks.
Transmission
TransmissionFluid
Transmissionuidcools,lubricatesandtransfershydraulic
power.Properuidlevelandconditioniscriticaltooperationof
thevehicle.Iftheuidislow,thetorqueconverterandclutches
starveforuidandthetransmissionoverheats.Iftheuidlevel
istoohigh,theuidmayaerate,whichmaypotentiallycause
thetransmissiontooverheat.
Periodictransmissionuidchecksarerecommendedbyevery
transmissionmanufacturer.Refertothetransmissionoperators
manualforadditionalinformationandproperprocedures.
NOTE:Alltransmissionmanufacturershaveguidelines
fortransmissionuidandlterchangeintervals.Driving
conditions,severityofdutycycle,andotherfactors
impacttheservicecycleforuidandlterchange
