Operation
1.Topreventshortingoftheelectricalsystem,remove
metalringsorwatchesanddonotallowmetaltoolsto
contactthepositiveterminalofbatteryorjumpercables.
2.PlacetransmissioninNeutralandsetparkingbrakein
boththedischargedandboostervehicle.
3.Shutallelectricalloadsinbothvehicles.
4.Eyeprotectionshouldbewornifavailable.Ifnot
available,shieldeyeswhenneareithervehicle's
batteries.
5.DONOTpermitvehiclestotoucheachotherwhenjump
starting.
6.Connectoneendoftherstjumpercabletopositive
(+)terminalofthedeadbatteryor(+)terminalofdead
batteryjumpstartstud,andthenconnecttheotherend
ofthejumpercabletothepositive(+)terminalofthe
boosterbattery.
7.Connectoneendofthesecondjumpercabletothe
negative(-)terminaloftheboosterbatteryandtheother
endtochassisframeofthevehiclewiththedischarged
battery.Donotattachtheotherendtothenegative
(-)batteryterminalofthedischargedbattery,because
asparkcouldoccurandcauseexplosionofgases
normallypresentaroundthebattery.
8.Withtheenginerunningontheboostervehicle,allowthe
dischargedbatteriestochargeforatleast5minutes.
9.Attempttostartthedischargedvehicle.
10.Reverseaboveprocedurewhenremovingthejumper
cables.

EtherInjectionSystem:Thistemperaturecontrolledsystemis
automaticallyactivatedatairtemperaturesbelow32°F(0°C)and
injectsasafe,meteredamountofetherpriortoenginecranking.
Theetherinjectionsystemismountedtotheleftframerailunder
thehood.
EngineBlockHeater:Forcoldclimatesanoptionalengine
blockheaterisavailable.Theblockheaterutilizesanexternal
powersourcetokeeptheenginecoolantwarmanda120-volt
socketforconnectingtotheexternalpowersource.The120-volt
socketismountedbelowthedriver-sidedoor.
