Remote Access
Remote access means using a Polycom HDX system in some way other than
through the local interface, such as by using the web, a serial port, or telnet. A
session is an instance of a user connected to the system through one of these
interfaces. Sessions include an indication of how you are logged on to the HDX
system, such as the local interface, web interface, Telnet, or serial API.
These are the main sets of remote access configuration settings:

Remote Access Controls
Remote access controls determine the types of remote access that the system
permits.
To configure remote access control settings:
1 Do one of the following:
In the local interface, go to System > Admin Settings > General
Settings > Security > Security Settings (select if necessary).
In the web interface, go to Admin Settings > General Settings >
Security > Security Settings.
2 Configure the following settings. Not all settings are available on both
interfaces. The visibility of some settings is affected by the type of
security profile your system uses.
User ID Specifies the ID for the user account, which is
displayed only when the Require Login for System
Access setting is selected. The default User ID is
user
.
User IDs are not case sensitive.
User Room Password Specifies the password for the local user account
used when logging in to the system locally. It is used
and displayed only when the Require Login for
System Access setting is selected.
The password cannot contain spaces or more than 40
characters. Passwords are case sensitive.
When you configure the HDX system to use the Maximum security profile, the
system requires you to change the Admin ID and User ID from their default values.
