DESCRIPTION
The modules shown above have been developed to give the standard IMUX chassis the ability to
synchronize the MTS SOE with an external IRIG-B signal. The existing DS-TT Transfer Trip (MTS)
module can be retrofitted to convert the 3-pin factory RS-232 connector into an IRIG-B connection.
New Transfer Trip Modules (revision AD and later) will have an IRIG-B connection as well as the
standard RS-232 connector. Upgrading existing units MUST include an update to SW2000TT019
software. Upgrading an existing unit should only be performed by RFL Service Engineers. Listed in
Table 9 below are the items included in the MTS IRIG-B Synchronization Upgrade with a brief
description of their function.

IRIG-B I/O Module 108005
This module adapter brings the IRIG-B signal into the IMUX. The
adap
ter plugs into the rear of the chassis connecting to the IRIG-B
Module.
Cable Harness 108006
This cable plugs into the I/O board and is used to connect to a
second chassis i
n a stacked chassis configuration.
Cable Harness 108002-xx
This cable plugs into the IRIG-B board and is used to connect to
th
e Transfer Trip (MTS) boards. It can be provided in lengths of
10 (-10), 15(-15) and 20 (-20).
