NOTE
When the TMX module is switched to Local mode, all configuration parameters
(P-codes) are set to the values determined by the present DIP-switch settings and the
values of P-codes P8 through P11 are set to zero (See Table 13).
NOTE
Steps 11-17 may be performed with the module in Remote mode with applicable
parameters set using NMS/SCB instead of DIP-switches. If Remote mode is used,
set SW2-7 to the UP position.
11. Select an unused time slot for the TMX module using DIP switches SW2-1 through SW2-5.
Each active channel uses one 64 Kbps digital time slot within the multiplexer’s aggregate rate.
Set the time slot using direct binary coding as shown in Table 7. Refer to the IMUX 2000
instruction manual for guidelines on time slot selection.
Note that selecting an invalid time slot will disable the TMX module. In T1 systems, only time
slots 1 through 24 are allowed. Time slot 24 is not available for a T1 system using fast
reframing.
In E1 systems, time slots 1 through 31 are allowed, however, time slots 0 and 16 are reserved
and cannot be used. Time slot 30 is not available for an E1 system using fast reframing. Time
slot 31 is not available if inter-node communications (NMX) is used.
12. Select module service on or off using SW2-8. Up sets the module service to ON (module
enabled) and down sets module service to OFF (module disabled). Set the switch to the up
position.
13. Select the TMX transmit address using switches SW3-1 through SW3-6 in accordance with
Table 8. The TMR receive address must be set to the same value. An address of zero disables
address checking by the TMR receiver.
14. Select the bus direction using SW3-8. OFF selects transmit on B and receive on A (for drop
and insert B). ON selects transmit on A and receive on B (for drop and insert A or terminal
end). Set the switch to the desired setting.
15. Select calibration input using SW4-1 through SW4-3 using Table 4 as a guide. Normal
operation is selected with all three switches set to the OFF position. This places live data on all
4 analog channels. If the module is being calibrated, calibration data can be placed on any one
of the four analog channels.
16. Select which analog channel(s) you want to output live data or a fixed value using switches
SW4-5 through SW4-8 as applicable. OFF selects live data (normal operation). ON selects a
fixed value of zero and is used for factory testing. Set these switches to the OFF position.
