The print speed changes with a single touch of the
respective button in the print screen.
[190ppm]: Prints at approximately 190 sheets /
minute.
[Silent]: Prints at approximately 60 sheets / minute
(speed 1).
Adjusting the Print Density
[DENSITY]

Press the [DENSITY] key ([O] or
[N]).
• Each press of the [O] key decreases the print
density by one level.
• Each press of the [N] key increases the print
density by one level.
The print density lamp shows the current print
density level.
B[160ppm] and [190ppm] are avail-
able when the temperature in the
print drum (cylinder) is as fol-
lows.
C[160ppm]: 5°C (41°F) or higher
C[190ppm]: 15°C (59°F) or higher
If the print drum (cylinder) is cool,
increase the room temperature or
print at speed [5] for a while, and
wait until the print drum (cylinder)
is sufficiently warm.
BWhen setting the print speed to
[160ppm] or [190ppm], set the
paper stopper wider than the
paper size. The reference posi-
tions are as follows.
BSome types of paper may cause a
paper jam easily. When using
such paper, print at a lower
speed.
BYou cannot use [160ppm] and
[190ppm] with the following function.
C[Slip sheet sorting] (A 95).

When using Ledger size paper, we rec-
ommend that you widen the receiving-
tray paper guides to the “A3” position
and close the paper arrangers.

You can adjust the print density.
It is possible to adjust the print density not only
before but also during the printing process.
BYou can change the default setting in [Print
Density] (A 118) under [Admin.].
BWhen [Ink Saving] (A 56) is turned on, the
print density cannot be changed. (The
print density lamp is turned OFF.)
