Overview of replacing converter components
Permissible replacement of components
In the event of a long-term function fault, you must replace the Power Module or Control
Unit. The inverter's Power Module and Control Unit can be replaced independently of each
other.
Replacing the Power Module
Replacing the Control Unit
Replacement:
• Same type
• Same power rating
Replacement:
• Same type
• Higher power rating
Replacement:
• Same type
• Same firmware version
Replacement:
• Same type
• higher firmware version
(e.g. replace FW V4.2 by
FW V4.3)
Power Module and motor must be
adapted to one another (ratio of
motor and Power Module rated
power > 1/8)
After replacing the Control Unit, you must restore the
inverter's settings.
WARNING
Physical injury or material damage as a result of unexpected drive behavior
Replacing inverters of different types can result in an unpredictable drive response.
• In all cases that are not permitted according to the table above, recommission the drive
after replacing an inverter.
