7.9.2.3 Replacing the fuel filter
h Replace as described in Chapter 7.8.3
Maintenance and inspection plan

Remove cover plate (192/1) in mainte-
nance process.
â–º
Place a suitable container under the fuel
filters (191/1).
â–º
Clean the outside of the fuel filter cartridg-
es (191/1).
â–º
Unscrew the filter cartridges (using a tight-
ening strap wrench if necessary).
â–º
Collect the fuel and dispose of filter car-
tridges according to regulations.
â–º
Clean the filter heads and check their con-
dition.
â–º
Wet the seals or fuel filter cartridges with
oil or diesel fuel.
â–º
Screw on the new fuel filter cartridges and
tighten firmly by hand.
â–º
With one more half turn, tighten the fuel
filter cartridges.
â–º
Refit cover plate (192/1) in maintenance
process.
There is no need to vent the fuel system.
â–º
After a trial run, check the fuel filter for
leaks.
