5. OPERATION FOR TESTS
3 Measure divergence.
First, measure the divergence of the patient.
Have the patient view the chart where characters are arranged on one vertical line.
[Checking the blur point] (Only for near point)
Instruct the patient to respond whenever he/she sees the blurred characters on the
chart. Using the indicated button, operate the mouse navigation slowly by one click.
When the patient says "I see the blurred characters", stop the mouse operation. Check
if the patient still sees the blurred characters though the user tries to adjust the focus
correctly. When the patient says positively "I see the blurred characters", click the
[Blurred (BI)] button to record the measured value.
[Checking the break point]
Instruct the patient to respond whenever he/she sees the characters on two lines, which
are, in fact, arranged vertically on one line in the chart. Using the indicated button, oper-
ate the mouse navigation slowly by one click.
When the patient says "I see the characters on two lines", click the [Break (BI)] button to
record the measured value.
[Checking the recovery point]
Instruct the patient to respond whenever he/she sees the characters on one line again.
Using the indicated button, operate the mouse navigation slowly by one click.
When the patient says "I see the characters on one line", click the [Recovery (BI)] button
to record the measured value.
4 Measure convergence.
Measure the convergence of the patient.
Before proceeding to the convergence measurement, click the [Clear] button to cancel
the prism set currently.

Instruct the patient to respond whenever he/she sees the blurred characters on the
chart. Using the indicated button, operate the mouse navigation slowly by one click.
When the patient says "I see the blurred characters", stop the mouse operation. Check
if the patient still sees the blurred characters while the operator tries to adjust the focus
correctly. When the patient says positively "I see the blurred characters", click the
[Blurred (BO)] button to record the measured value.

are, in fact, arranged on one line horizontally in the chart. Using the indicated button,
operate the mouse navigation slowly by one click.
When the patient says "I see the characters on two lines", click the [Break (BO)] button
to record the measured value.

Using the indicated button, operate the mouse navigation slowly by one click.
When the patient says "I see the characters on one line", click the [Recovery (BO)] but-
