5.4 Influence of Staple Length and
Yarn Strength
Textile research further indicates that as cotton staple length increases so
does the strength of the resulting yarn. Generally, longer staple cottons
tend to be finer, thereby allowing a greater number of fibers per cross-
section in yarn.

Yarn Strength
