5.4 Installation
5.4.1 Uncrating and Inspecting
Upon delivery, inspect the outside of the shipping container for signs of
damage. Any damage should be immediately reported to the carrier.
Failure to adequately describe such external evidence of loss or damage
may result in the carrier refusing to honor a damage claim.
Carefully remove the packing from around the instrument, and check the
contents against the packing list. Store the shipping container and all
packaging materials in a safe place in the event that re-shipment is
necessary. If the instrument is to be stored before being placed in
service, inside storage is required in a location protected from excess
moisture, corrosive atmosphere, and chance of physical damage.
