Connection statistics: Alcatel OmniPCX provides a tool to enable the Administrator to get an
overview of Internet activity and, using log file data, to compile statistics for a range of criteria,
namely users, services and destinations. These statistics describe web access in terms of:
- users: statistics on Internet use
- services used: statistics on the traffic for each service (HTTP or FTP)
- web sites: the list of web sites visited.
Nota : Access Control is only possible when the proxy option is selected
CONFIGURATION
The proxy is configured from within the Settings -> Proxy/Cache menu. There are two tabs:
- Main tab
Proxy Port Number: the port number to which the http and ftp requests from the client stations
are sent. The default number is 8000.
Properties:
- User authentication required for web access
To activate the service, check the corresponding box.
If the service is activated, a username (login) and associated password will be requested at
the start of each web browsing session. The required names and passwords are input when
users are created (see User Management).
- URL Control List
To activate the service, check the corresponding box.
If the service is activated, access is controlled in accordance with the settings in the Control
List tab.
- Control List tab:
Control Policy: there are two control strategy options:
- Forbidden: authorizes all sites except those containing character strings that match the re-
gular expressions in the "List of RegExp". Regular expressions may contain:
- alphanumeric characters;
- wildcards: these characters stand for other characters or strings:
- represents any character;
- .* represents a string of from 0 to n characters;
